Welcome to The Einstein Report
I’m Dr Danielle Einstein, a clinical psychologist, researcher and author with nearly three decades of expertise in the intersection of technology, uncertainty and mental health.
In my role as adjunct fellow at Macquarie University in Australia, I research the connection between device use and anxiety. In my private practice, I provide treatment for anxiety disorders.
In November 2024, I provided critical evidence at the Australian Parliament’s Senate Inquiry into Social Media Age which influenced the legislation that will take effect in December this year. I’ve also briefed members of state and federal parliament and was an invited expert at the Social Media Summits. My work explaining the evidence around the impact of social media use on young people has been at the forefront of the global trend towards legislation in this area.
So far in 2025, I have spoken with elected members of the UK and New Zealand governments, worked with researchers in Australia, the UK, and New Zealand, and advised a UK government unit on the effects of technology use on emotional development.
Why The Einstein Report matters
The Einstein Report is a guide on how to take control of the digital challenges facing young people today.
Here I’ll draw on the theory and evidence to provide the information health professionals, parents and educators need to consider.
My intention is to foster strong school communities and independent young adults by ensuring that technological advancements support teens to grow emotionally, build resilience, strengthen their planning and thinking skills, connect socially, and feel confident in themselves.
